The Ekal Vidyalaya operates on US$ 365 a year. The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is able to maintain a dollar-a-day cost because it works with a low overhead budget and is supported by the villagers with whom we work.
A typical schoolroom is the shade of large banyan tree or under the thatch of a village hut. The teachers, trainers, evaluators and other workers work for a minimal honorarium. Teaching materials such as a blackboard, chalk, and poster stands constitute a majority of the costs. Despite the size of the movement, Ekal Vidyalaya is committed to keeping administrative expenses below 10% of its total budget.
Donations for any amount are welcome. However, for a simple donation of only US $365 per year you can adopt one complete Ekal Vidyalaya.
